World Series Game 7 Draws Over 50 Million Audience Members Across the United States, Canada and Japan Regions.

The thrilling 11-inning contest where the Dodgers beat the Blue Jays 5-4 averaged a total 51 million spectators across the United States, Canada, and Japan markets. Major League Baseball stated this is the most-watched World Series Game 7 since the 1991 edition contest featuring the Minnesota Twins and Braves.

Television Ratings Breakdown

The Saturday memorable contest averaged 27.33M viewers on Fox networks, Fox Deportes and Fox’s streaming platforms. According to ratings data, it was the second highest-rated broadcast of the previous week.

It also stands as the top-rated World Series game after the 2017 edition final game between the Dodgers and Astros, which averaged 29.07 million. This marks a 16% improvement over the previous Game 7 featuring the Nationals and Houston Astros, which attracted 23.19 million viewers.

In the weekly rankings, the sixth game placed fourth, the fourth game was 7th, the fifth game was eighth, and Game 3 landed in thirteenth place.

Global Viewership Figures

In the Canadian market, the game drew 11.6 million watchers on the Sportsnet network and the French-language TVA Sports channel. This was the highest-rated English-language broadcast in the country since the 2010 edition Vancouver Winter Olympics.

In the Japanese market, where the deciding game began at 9 PM local time, it drew 12M. This followed last Friday’s sixth game – in which World Series Most Valuable Player Yamamoto gave up a single run in six innings – averaged 13.1 million viewers, making it the highest-rated World Series matchup on a single network in the country.

Series Totals and Patterns

The full seven-match World Series recorded 15.71M audience members on Fox, a two percent increase from last year’s Dodgers-Yankees matchup. This marks the first time after 2015 and ‘16 that the World Series has seen audience growth for two straight seasons.

Counting the Game 1 telecast on Univision, the complete American average reached 16.1M. The overall World Series viewership in Japan was 9.7 million and 8.1 million in Canada.

The full MLB Postseason on Fox and its sister channels averaged 8.09M watchers, an eight percent rise over the previous year and Fox’s strongest playoff ratings since 2017.

MLB stated that the Fall Classic was televised in over 200 nations and regions by forty-four media partners in 16 various languages.
